Limit numbers of characters in UDX

Is it possible to limit the characters in the field of User Data Extension?

 Do you mean to limit/reduce the characters in the udx formula field? (attached example is below)

 If you are using multiple UDX formulae to create a formula (as seen above), then you can set the names with fewer characters and then create a new UDX formula with their help. I hope this helps.  Are you wanting to create a User Data Extension with the "Text" Data Type, and limit the number of characters that can be used in that UDX? Can you tell us more about why you need to do this? Do you want to prevent other users from putting too much data in the field? 
 Consider creating a ModelBuilder connection to a spreadsheet, then sync-out the Text based UDX periodically to check for the field length using a function in Excel. 
 If this does not help, considering posting this to the Idea Portal as a suggestion for a new feature in a future release. This will enable you to see the status of your idea, get votes from other users to help influence prioritization, and posts comments.
