Hi all
When I came to regsiter a copy of "WaterCAD", I faced the maximum number of pipes I can use in my project. The number of pipes extremely affect the price of the software.
I am actually wondering if this number means that I cannot draw more than "X" number of pipes in a specific project, or I can draw as pipes as I want, but cannot RUN analysis for more than "X" number of pipes? Or it's just about diameters?
The right question might be: What is really the "maximum number of pipes"?
Thanks in advance :)
Hello multiman,
You can create as many pipes as you want and there is no limitation in drawing the pipes. Software checks the license (pipe limit...) when you try to run your project. So the "maximum number of pipes" from license point of view, is the TOTAL number of pipes in an active model during the time of simulation.
Generally our products also prevent saving of changes if you exceed the pipe limit. In other words you can't create a 10,000 pipe model using a 10 pipe WaterCAD license and then just export to EPANET to compute it.
If you are not sure how many pipes you need, you can always start small and upgrade later. A 10 pipe license is quite restrictive though, so I would suggest something larger to start with.
