Colour Coding Pipe Pressure in Watergems

I am trying to create a colour coding in watergems.

Similar to assigning diameter, velocity and flow colour codings to pipe elements, I would like to do the same indicating pipe pressure. I know that I can use a colour codings on nodes to do this but would like to setup something more visual to show clients when they review the design.

Is this possible? I thought of maybe trying to use the 'Zones' feature.

  • You could zone the pipes and color code based on zone, but you can't color code pipes based on pressure.  Pressure changes due to headloss along the length of the pipe, so each pipe would potentially have a gradient of colors instead of a single color.

You might be able to accomplish what you're after by creating Contour Lines across your model based on Pressure. The Contour Manager is found by clicking View > Contours in your menu.  Create a new Contour set and define it much as you would a Color Coding.  Try that out and see if it gives you the effect you're after.  Contours can be animated over time, just like other graphical elements, and can even be exported to DXF format for use in other CAD drawings.
