Use of Pipe Balancer between two ground reservoirs

Hello there,

Greetings!

I am modeling our system from the wellfield going to the storage sumps.  From the storage sumps, water is pumped towards the distribution system in two ways.  From Sump 1, water is pumped directly towards the distribution system while from Sump 2, water is pumped towards a storage tank located at the highest elevation of the network.  To balance the level of the two sumps, a 300mmØ pipe was used as the balancer.  It was observed that the 300 mm balancer is small enough to balance the levels of the two sumps.  Thus, we plan to increase the size of the balancer into 500mmØ.  However, I encountered some confusions on the results of the analysis.  I am expecting that upon increasing the size of the balancer, the levels of the the two sumps at any time of the day would be the same or at close.  But based on the results, though there is an increase in the flow of the balancer, the levels of the two sumps are not the same. I attached some results of the analysis for your reference.

Thanks in advance.

With kind regards,
