transient_hammer analysis inquiry

while i run analysis for water hammer protection on Hammer V8i i used a surge valve to anticipate the vapor volume and the pressure transient

but when i added two surge valve parallel refering as a practical example here in our region pump station i have got a negative pressure 

is this the right way to simulate more than surge valve connected together or it dosent worth to install many of them and one is enough like the model has resulted ?

    I would suggest trying both situations (one valve or two), then compare the results by closely examining graphs and profiles in the Transient Results Viewer (animating a profile path is a great start). This should show you if this arrangement will work well for your system.

    Just a quick note about the surge valve element, which I assume you've configured as a surge anticipator valve (SAV). The SAV will open when it detects a low pressure wave, such as the downstream side of a pump that shuts down. The opening of this valve is done in anticipation of a subsequent "upsurge" (high pressure) wave bouncing back shortly after. So, its purpose is mainly to relieve the high surge pressure wave that sometimes occurs after a pump shutdown.

    With that said, if you never get a return surge wave after your event (such as a pump shutdown), this valve will not prevent the pressure from getting too low. It's hard to tell without seeing your system, but it's possible that you'll need a storage device (such as a hydropneumatic tank) to provide mass to the system to keep the water column moving, or maybe an air valve if the negative pressure is at an intermediate high point. Looking closely at the results should give you a good understanding of what's happening in your particular system.
