Hi folks,
I am building a distribution network model for a small town using WaterGEMS and trying to identify buildings on an imported Ordinance Survey map based on longitude and latitude coordinates that i have for those buildings in a separate database.
Do i have to convert the longitude and latitude coordinates to XY and if so, how do i find the XY origin for the specific area i am working with?
Thanks
When you say you 'imported' the Ordnance Survey map, what do you mean? Did you add it as a background layer in the stand alone WaterGEMS platform?
There are some variations in how latitude and longitude coordinates are measured. You need to know what method was used to create your lat/long values. If you are in the UK, this website gives some good advice: www.movable-type.co.uk/.../latlong-gridref.html .

Mal
Sorry, yes i added it as a background layer in the stand alone platform.
That website was a lot of help,
thanks very much!
