Hammer - Arranging Pipe FlexTable Order

Hi

This may be a silly question, however I have been modelling a hydro station and in setting up the model, when viewing the pipe flextable, the pipes are not listed in sequential order, but in the order which they were added.

I understand you can arrange by alphabetical order etc, but I want to order them as I have layed them out left to right - which has no alphabetical or numerical order. Is there a way to just drag around the order?

  • When you lay the pipes, they will be assigned an ID along with the labels, if you want to arrange the pipes in flex table in the order you have layed them from left to right, you need to sort the column “ID” in flex table –sort ascending.

Is this what you are looking for?

  • Also -

Some of our storm and sewer modeling products have a "sort upstream" and "sort downstream" functionality in flextables, but flow can potentially go either way in a water model.

If you want the table sorted from upstream/downstream, you can sort on the the initial conditions hydraulic grade field (either start or stop). Please see the below solution wiki for more information:

  • If you want complete control over order, you could add a numeric User Data Extension field, add that column to your FlexTable, enter a value to specify the order for each row, then sort by that field.
