Pumps Multistage, Hammer

I'm also working on a project with  submersible multistage pumps. I´d like to know How to set this model in Hammer v8i. Please is very important.

  • Hello Juan,

I believe the below wiki will likely answer your question:

    communities.bentley.com/.../modeling-a-vertical-turbine-pump.aspx

Basically you would set this up like a normal pump, choosing the appropriate pump definition, including the pump curve (for initial conditions) and data in the transient tab such as the Specific Speed. You would connect the pump to a reservoir at the appropriate HGL using a frictionless pipe.

Let us know if this helps.

  • Thanks, Jesse

I undestood about submersible pumps, but I don't understood about multistage pumps. In mi project I have 10 stage pumps. Please your help. Pumps map attached

  • From what I understand, a multistage pump has multiple impellers.

Some of our other members may be able to offer an opinion, but you should be able to model this as one pump node element, with the pump definition configured to represent the performance of the pump as a whole (the 10 stages together)

Let us know if you have any specific question on entering the pump definition.

  • Yes - the pump curve should represent all 10 stages together, but the specific speed should be calculated for a single stage only.
