Hello,
Looking for information on the applicability of using WaterGEMs for modeling system with non-aqueous fluid, specifically crude oil . Any special considerations, model options to use, limitations, etc.
I've read the FAQ below but feedback from someone that may have some experience w/ actually modeling in this area would be much appreciated.

You can use the WaterGEMS hydraulic solver to the extent that the fluid is a Netwonian, single phase fluid. You would need to adjust the viscosity and density for that fluid. I have my doubts about crude oil being Netwonian.

To add to what Tom said, this is another question about pump results that comes up sometimes when people model fluids other than water. It may help you if you decide to go forward with the model.

Thank you both for your quick response. It appears that WaterGems may not be best suited to handle the job. It looks like we'll need to compare the results side-by-side w/ other hydraulic modeling software that is designed specifically for crude oil modeling. Appreciate your feedback.
