Model Builder

Hello,

I am using WaterCAD version 08.11.04.58

When trying to load excel file with model builder I am getting an error of microsoft access database angine 2010 64 bit.

I have it already installed (with the Office 2010 64 bit that I have installed on my machine) but I installed it again and it still gives me the error. Please see the attached files.

How can I fix it?

Looking forward hearing from you.

Regards,

Alex

  • Open c:\program files (x86) \Bentley \watercad \x64 \ Watercad.exe. that should do it.

    - from hand held device.

  • Now, if you are wondering why you got that message then, to work with MS Office file, using MS Office components, you have to use same supporting bit Program as of MS Office. What seems going on is you WaterCAD is running as 32 bit but now you are trying to work with MS Office file and the MS Office installed is 64 bit (or vice-versa).

You will find similar info here:

    Thanks,

  • Alex,

If for some reason you still encounter an error when using certain data source types in Modelbuilder when using the 64-bit version of WaterCAD, it may help to provide a screenshot of the Access Database Engine version(s) that you have installed. Assuming you're using Windows 7, you can find this by going to "Programs and Features" from Control Panel, then type "access database" in the search bar:

Screenshots showing the "bitness" (32 vs 64) of both WaterCAD and Office may also help. In WaterCAD, this is under Help>About. The 64-bit version will show "64-bit" next to the version number in the lower-left corner. For Office, you can open one of the programs such as Excel and go to File > Help. As with WaterCAD, "64-bit" should show next to the version number.

  • Alex,

Apologies; I just realized that you had already attached a screenshot showing the same Access Database Engine version as seen above. If you require further assistance, it would still help to see a screenshot showing the WaterCAD and Office version/bitness.

  • After some further investigation and discussion, we noticed that Microsoft Access Database Engine version 2007 may be missing from your computer (your screenshot only showed 2010). The 2007 version should have been installed with WaterCAD, to support cases when the 32-bit version of WaterCAD needs to be used. We've seen cases where removal of the 2007 version will break the 2010 version, which could potentially cause the problem in question.

Can you confirm that Access Database Engine 2007 (as seen in my screenshot further above) is indeed missing from your "Programs and Features" list? If so, try reinstalling WaterCAD, which should reinstall it. You can also use this link from Microsoft's website.
