• Cannot meet 100% of the customer demand to prv with associated pipe

Hello, I need help with this issue. When i try to put in a prv into my water network it says that it cannot distribute 100% of customer demand to PRV. Why is this occuring and how do I fix this?
  • Use of PRV in potable water network in WaterCAD

I am using a PRV to control the pressure downstream. My model has 2 reservoirs. The PRV is placed on the pipe which isolates the loop upstream of it. This gives me a looped network upstream of the PRV connected to a reservoir (R-1). I have another reservoir…
  • Modeling Distribution system with 2 PRVs

Hello, I am trying to model a booster station and tank that will supply water and fire flow for a new subdivision. I have the piping to the tank no problem, but the distribution lines are giving me trouble. THe tank has a 16" line that will supply it…
  • Potable Water Distribution Design for communities - use of PRV's

Hi all, I have a general question on the use of PRV's at individual services for a "closed" distribution system, i.e. pumps directly draw from a treated reservoir and feed to end-users with no elevated/pressure tank and storage elsewhere. I have come…
  • Pumps and PRVs

I am exporting my initial model in Epanet and importing this in WaterGEMS as an inp file. I however have few problems in WaterGEMS 1. In the WaterGEMS, the pump is imported as a node and two pieces of pipes are introduced both sides of the pump with…
  • RE: Hammer-Error relating to missing PRV Pattern (Valve Setting)

Hello Fadi, The problem in this case is with the calculated Relative Closure, which you can see in the "results" section of the PRV properties. This is calculated based on the calculated discharge coefficient during the initial conditions, the fully…
  • HAMMER PRV Behavior during Transient Analysis

I have a transient model that includes a long pipeline with several PRVs. In between two particular PRVs, there is a hydrant (modelled as a reservoir at ground elevation). During the run, a general purpose valve seperating the hydrant from the pipeline…
  • Re: demand dependent 24-hours pattern of PRV

Thanks for the answer. Let me explain the problem. In the field, a utility will place a specific PRV that has three capabilities (except closed and open). 1. fixed (pressure) downstream control over the 24 hours 2. variable (pressure) downstream…
