How To:

How to change the symbol size for nodes in a model, or the line width for links and pipes.

Steps to Accomplish

Option 1 - Changing Symbol Size or Text Height for All Elements

To change to the symbol size or text height for all elements in a model, open the Options dialog. In CONNECT Edition, this will be in the Tools tab (you can also search using the Ribbon search). In the V8i releases, you can go to Tools > Options. Go to the Drawing tab, and find Symbol Size Multiplier and Text Height Multiplier. Adjust this value to display the symbol size you want to use.

If you are working in a platform other than Standalone, you will need to do this through the Product pulldown menu, for instance WaterCAD. The product pulldown menu is automatically available in MicroStation. To add it in AutoCAD, type "Menubar" in the Command line, then enter "1". The pulldown menus will be available. Then to to WaterCAD > Tools > Options and find the drawing tab.

If you are trying to change the line width for a pipe element, you will need to use option 2 below.

Option 2 - Changing Symbol Size and Text Height for individual element types

To change the symbol size for an individual element type, go the the Element Symbology manager (View > Element Symbology). Double-click the element you want to adjust. This will open the Properties display. Change the Symbol Size Multiplier or Text Height Multiplier to whatever value you want to use.

For text height, double-click the individual annotation, such as Label. This will open the Annotation properties. You can change the annotation text height there. It can also be changed in the Properties display.

For links or pipes, the process is similar. If you double-click on Pipe or Conduit (depending on the program you are using), you will open the Element Symbology properties for that element. One of the items is Line Width. Adjusting this will change the appearance for the link in the drawing.
