Problem Description

If I have a pipe broken in the middle by an isolation valve why is the find tool in criticality showing me to close more isolation valves than are required to isolate a particular section of pipe?

*This assumes that you have checked the option for using isolation valves as nodes to segment your pipes with in the options tab.

Solution

The find tool in criticality does not know the exact location on the pipe that you clicked on and it read the pipe as an entire element even though criticality has it broken down by sections. What you will see is one portion that shows you the correct valves to close if the pipe break is on side A of the pipe and what valves to close if the pipe break is on side B of that pipe.
