When trying to make adjustments to the Prototype settings in a model, the program will hang or become unresponsive.
If this is a model-specific issue, there are a few things you can try. First, open the program, but do not open any model files. Go to Tools > Database Utilities > Compact Database. Browse to the model's database file. Choose the option to purge the file to save space. Once completed, open the model and see if the issue still occurs. If it does, close the model. Browse to where the model is saved and create a new folder. Copy only the .wtg and .wtg.sqlite files into the new folder. Now open the model from the new file location and see if the issue still occurs.
Further to our troubleshooting steps, It was found that the software is working good under another user with Admin rights.
If this occurs for all models, you could try installing the latest version of WaterCAD/WaterGEMS. You could also try running a Repair on the installation. You can do this in the Programs and Features section of the Control Panel (or Add/Remove Programs on an XP operating system). Highlight the program and choose Repair. This will reinstall key components of the installation file.
If this issue only occurs on a certain maching and a reinstallation or repair does not resolve the issue, the user profile may be corrupted. Try repairing the user profile and reinstalling the program.
