Is there a way to global edit the "Specify Local Flows", "Emitter Coefficient", and "Flow" columns used for flushing events?

Steps to Resolve

In WaterGEMS and WaterCAD V8i SELECTseries 3 and earlier, conventional flushing events were stored in a table in the Flushing Alternative. Starting with WaterGEMS and WaterCAD V8i SELECTseries 4, flushing events were improved upon and presented in their own manager, found in the Analysis pulldown menu. In WaterGEMS/WaterCAD V8i SELECTseries 4, a user creates a flushing study, then a flushing area where a representative scenario and globally applied flowing emitter coefficients and flowing demands can be included for the flushing events that are used in the study areas. Multiple flushing events can be included in a study area, each assigned to an individual node.

As you can see from the image above, it is possible to specify local flows and emitter coefficients. However, given the collection-style layout for the flushing events, there is no conventient way of doing a global edit for multiple flushing events that may have local flows. Each event must be edited individually. If a study area has only a few nodes where local data must be used or if there are only a few nodes in a study area, manually changing the values is not time consuming. However, if there is a case where there are many nodes in a study area that require local flow or emitter coefficient data, manually changing the results is not feasible.

With an update to the latest release of WaterGEMS and WaterCAD, a new event table has been added to the flushing area that will allow for the use of the global edit function on "Specify Local Flows", "Emitter Coefficient", and "Flow" values on all flushing events in a study area.

To use this, highlight the Flushing Area and go to the Events tab. Click the "Convenential Event Quick Edit" button.

This will a new dialogue that will list the flushing events in the given study area. It will include columns for "Specify Local Flows", "Emitter Coefficient", and "Flow".

This table will allows for the use of the Global Edit function. Right-click on the column header for the column you wish to change and select "Global Edit". If the globally edit the "Specify Local Flows" column to add a checkmark (meaning that local flows and emitter coefficients can be included), the columns for "Emitter Coefficient" and "Flow" will become editable fields. You can then globally edit these columns or copy and paste data into the cells from a spreadsheet.
