GeoPak - StormCAD errors - GEOPAK runtime environment not found / Error writing GEOPAK/PowerCivil node

Product(s): Bentley StormCAD
Version(s): 08.11.XX.XX, 10.XX.XX.XX
Area: Layout and Data Input

  1. When trying to import or export a GEOPAK drainage file in StormCAD V8i for Microstation or Powercivil, why do I get the following error?

"Error - GEOPAK runtime environment not found. You must be running GEOPAK or PowerCivil to execute this command"

            Problem ID#: 37730

        2. When attempting to export a StormCAD model to GEOPAK (from within StormCAD for Microstation with a GEOPAK license) on a Windows 7 or Vista computer, the following red user notifications appear:

"Error writing GEOPAK/PowerCivil node. Library object may not exist or not be supported."

            Problem ID#: 46164

      1. This error indicates that a GEOPAK license has not been loaded in your Microstation session. First, ensure that you've installed GEOPAK drainage. Then, go to Applications > Bentley Civil > Activate                               Bentley Civil.

If you encounter any licensing problems, please make sure your GEOPAK license is configured properly, under Utilities > License Management.

       2. This is due to Windows permissions. Try right clicking on the "StormCAD V8i for Microstation..." shortcut and choose "run as administrator". You should now be able to export to GEOPAK.
