Problem

One of the following user notifications is returned when computing a sewer model.

  • "Unit sanitary load exists. Calculation option pattern setup is not selected or the selected pattern set up doesn't exist. Unit load is set as fixed load."
  • "Unit Sanitary Load is not specified or does not exist."
  • "Unit sanitary load exists and calculation pattern is set to fixed. If you have a pattern setup associated with your unit loads be sure to select it."
  • "#SWRCPatternSetupNotAvailable"

Solution

This is an informational message to let you know that a pattern setup has not been selected for your unit loads. A pattern setup is a configuration of patterns for various unit loads.

If you have entered unit loads for your manholes, most likely you will want to associate a diurnal pattern with it, so as to multiply the base unit load throughout the course of the simulation duration.

Try the following steps to make sure unit sanitary loading patterns are correctly applied.

  1. Create patterns under Components > Patterns
  2. Associate your various unit loads with certain patterns, under Components > Pattern setups. You can create multiple configurations of these in here.
  3. Under Analysis > calculation options, select the pattern setup you want to use under "pattern setups".

Note: If you do not wish to use a pattern distribution for your unit loads, then you should just make sure that "Fixed" is selected for the "pattern setup", in your calculation options.
