Problem Description

How can I batch morph isolation valves to another type of valve, such as junctions or TCVs?

Steps to Resolve

There is no direct morph, but you can do it in three steps:

The example below uses junctions as the element type the isolation valves are being converted to.

1) Export the Isolation Valves to Shapefile

   a) Open the isolation valve FlexTable

   b) Be sure to include columns that contain data that you want to apply to your junctions (e.g. Elevation).

   c) Click the Export toolbar button.

2) Use ModelBuilder to create junctions from that shapefile.

   a) Use the Create Selection Set option on the last step of the ModelBuilder wizard (for use in the next step).

3) Use Batch Pipe Split to connect those PRV's to the adjacent pipe.

   a) Use the Selection Set option to only split pipes based on thejunctions that you just imported.
