Problem Description
Can User Data Extensions (UDX) be shared between elements in a model?
Steps to Resolve
Many types of UDX can be shared between elements. This can help with duplication of effort for cases where a UDX will be used for multiple elements.
To share a UDX, highlight the field and choose the Share button:
This will open a new dialog that will allow to you to add that UDX to other elements. Simply check the element you want to include the UDX with and click Okay:
Once completed, the UDX will be available for other elements as well. You can adjust the value for the UDX in the element properties grid or include the UDX in the element FlexTables and make the changes there.
The only UDX field that cannot be shared is the "Real (Formula)" type. This is because formula-based User Data Extensions typically include properties only available in element type it was created for. These properties will not be available in other elements and therefore cannot be shared between them.
