What is the purpose of "ELS Feature Level Configuration" on the SELECTserver administrator page? Do changes to this take effect immediately on the client side?
Problem ID#: 57027
The ELS Feature Level Configuration tool allows the administrator for an ELS (Enterprise License Subscription) account to choose which feature levels are available to users, for products that use feature levels (mainly the Haestad/Water products such as PondPack, WaterGEMS, StormCAD, etc). For example a feature level for WaterGEMS would be 1000 pipe, unlimited pipes, etc. For PondPack it would be 1 pond, 3 ponds, unlimited ponds, 3 ponds with AutoCAD integration, and so on.In some cases you may not want all users to have access to certain feature levels. For example if users typically work on smaller projects in WaterGEMS, you would not want them to be utilizing the Unlimited Pipes license, but instead use a lower pipe limit. Unchecking the "unlimited pipes" feature level in this tool will disable that fromappearing on the client side.Note that you will still need to manually set the default license in the Municipal License Administrator on the client side. For instance, if you only have say the 100 pipes license for WaterCAD available and a user suddenly needs to access up to 250 pipes, simply enabling the 250 pipe feature level in the ELS Feature Level Configuration tool will not automatically cause that user to use the 250 pipe limit. You will still need to open the Municipal License Administrator, select the 250 pipe limit and click "make default".You can also set up custom activation groups on the server side, with different feature configurations for each one. This way you will have multiple different activation keys, each with it's own set of available licenses. You can then provide certain users with certain activation keys to control who has access to which licenses and featurelevels. Note that the custom activation groups will only have access to select products and features that are enabled in the ELS Feature Configurations.Changes made to the ELS feature level configurations will immediately take effect on the client side.
