When attempting to install a cumulative patch set, the following error displays:
"Cannot create output file: ..."

1. Make sure that the patch set version number matches the version number of the product you are trying to apply it to.

2. Make sure the product being patched, and any integrated applications (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcMap) are closed before running the patch set installation.
3. Run the patch set installation as an administrator, especially if it is installed on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system. To do this, just right-click on the patch installation file and select "Run as administrator".
