When is license usage recorded for WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / HAMMER, when working in the ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro platform?
With ArcGIS Pro, you have a distinct shortcut for WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS for ArcGIS Pro and one for plain ArcGIS Pro. If you open plain ArcGIS Pro, there will be no WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS license usage. If you open the WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS for ArcGIS Pro shortcut, you will see the WaterGEMS- and SewerGEMS-related menus in the ribbon interface and you will be using a WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS license.
This is different from the license usage when working in ArcMap. With the CONNECT Edition releases of WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and HAMMER, license usage starts when you open a WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / HAMMER model in your ArcMap session (in the Hydraulic Model Manager).
License usage does not stop until the ArcMap software is closed.
To prevent conflicts with other software, uncheck the option for ArcMap integration during installation of the product.
With versions from 08.11.01.32 through 08.11.06.113, license usage is only recorded if you have an open WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / HAMMER project in your ArcMap session (in the Hydraulic Model Manager / Project Manager). To prevent conflicts with other software, uncheck the option for ArcMap integration during installation of the product.
With versions 08.11.00.30 and earlier, a WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / HAMMER license will be used when ArcMap is open with the OpenFlows product integrated.
To prevent this from happening, first un-integrate WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / HAMMER from ArcMap by using the "WaterGEMSXMUnreg.exe" file (using WaterGEMS as an example), located in the installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\WaterGEMS) . Please be sure you have the latest cumulative patch set applied, before attempting this.
