How can I open a StormCAD model in CivilStorm?
This depends on which versions you're using. Please see below table of CivilStorm versions and the corresponding StormCAD model versions that can be imported:

In a version 01.01.XX.XX through 08.11.00.08 of CivilStorm, you would need to first export the StormCAD 5.6 model as an "Exchange database", from the File > Export menu in StormCAD 5.6. You can then import the exchange database in CivilStorm from File > Import.
In version 08.11.01.36 and greater (including CONNECT Edition) of CivilStorm, direct imports of version 5.6 models are not supported and you would need to first open and save the StormCAD model in the supported version or StormCAD, then open the upgraded StormCAD model in CivilStorm. In older versions of CivilStorm (08.11.01.36 through 08.11.02.65) this is done from the File > Import > StormCAD menu. In version 08.11.03.77 and greater (including CONNECT Edition) of CivilStorm (and SewerGEMS), you can directly open all CivilStorm files in StormCAD directly and vice versa because they both use the same file extension (.STSW).
