"The Depth-Flow, Depth-Flow (Simulated Variable Speed) and Volume-Flow pump definition types are unsupported"

  Product(s): SewerCAD, SewerGEMS
  Version(s): CONNECT Edition, V8i
  Area: Modeling

Problem

When computing or validating a model in SewerCAD or with the GVF Convex solver in SewerGEMS, the following user notificatioin is generated:

The Depth-Flow, Depth-Flow (Simulated Variable Speed) and Volume-Flow pump definition types are unsupported by this calculation engine. Either adjust the pump definition type or use another pump definition.

Problem ID#: 62985

Solution

This message occurs because these pump definition types are not supported in SewerCAD's GVF Convex numerical solver. This is a pump definition type that works in the Implicit dynamic or Explicit dynamic solvers in SewerGEMS and CivilStorm. Since the model files are compatible between these products (they use the same database schema), all pump definition types are available for selection. If you are using this program in SewerCAD, you will need to assign a different pump definition type, such as multi-point curve. SewerCAD is capable of using variable speed pumps, so you can set up the relevant properties in the pump properties dialog.
