Problem
When computing a model, the following user notification is generated: "There should be only one non-diversion type conduit out of a gravity junction"
Problem ID#: 89466
Solution
The solvers used in SewerCAD and StormCAD do not automatically model split flows the way that the Implicit and Explicit solvers to in SewerGEMS and CivilStorm. For this reason, if you have more than one conduit coming out of a node element, like a manhole, one of these has to be set to be a diversion. This allows the program to assign the correct flows into each of the downstream conduits.
Note: This error can come up when using the Explicit Solver too if the "Routing Method" under Calculation Options is set to "Uniform Flow". This has to be changed to "Dynamic Wave" to automatically model flow splits. Under Calculation options of the Explicit Solver the Routing Method can be changed under the Explicit Engine tab.
To set up a diversion, open the conduit properties. Find the property field, "Is Diversion Link?" and set it to True. You can then define how much flow is diverted into the diversion. The balance of the flow will go through the other downstream conduit. See more in the link below.
If you are not certain where the flow split is occurring, try running the Network Navigator query called "Find Gravity Sub-network with more than one Outfall or Wet well". See the article below for more.
