Problem Description
Will SCADA Results Publishing work with only OPC sources?
Recommended Solution
OPC is an interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data in the industrial automation space. This standard is supported by most of the vendors of SCADA software and even Citect is partly supporting this standard.
The old Citect connection type in WaterGEMS is a vendor specific implementation and only implemented for reading SCADA values so currently we only support the export of calculation results from a SCADAConnect Simulator run to an HMI via OPC.
The Citect SCADA software seems to support the OPC DA standard (for data access of real-time values), so it’s possible that the publishing may also work for a Citect SCADA system. However, only the reading of SCADA values has been tested and certified by the developers.
