Area: Input and Data Layout

Problem

When importing a DXF file using ModelBuilder the following error appears:
"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."

Solution 1

If the original CAD line work was exported to a DXF file, then try saving as a DXF instead.

Solution 2

  1. Open the original CAD file in a CAD editing application (eg. MicroStation, AutoCAD).
  2. Save the file as a DGN.
  3. Save that DGN as a DXF.
  4. Use the new DXF to import the data into ModelBuilder.

Solution 3

There may be an issue with the seed/template file that was used to create the original CAD file.

Try copying the linework to a new file that uses a different seed/template file.
