The following error occurs with the MicroStation-integrated version a OpenFlows product, like WaterCAD or StormCAD: "Unknown key-in or command".

Product(s): WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, HAMMER, SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, StormCAD, CivilStorm
Version(s): 08.11.XX.XX
Area: Modeling

Problem

When opening a MicroStation-integrated version of a product, like WaterCAD for MicroStation, an error is generated that says "Unknown key-in or command." The OpenFlows product commands are not available after this. The OpenFlows product commands can be loaded manually using the Open MDL Apps command in MicroStation.

Solution

This issue can occur if extra information is included in the product .UCF file (such as watercad.ucf). These modifications may cuase the issue is occur. Browse to the .UCF file (for WaterCAD, that can be found in C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\users\WaterCAD.ucf) and view the file in Notepad. One instance of this error occurred when the following command was included in the .UCF file:

MS_DGNAPPS=CIVTOOLS [CIVTOOLS]

To fix an instance like this, change MS_DGNAPPS=CIVTOOLS to read: MS_DGNAPPS > CIVTOOLS

If that fails, please comment out that line by placing  a # in the first column: #MS_DGNAPPS = CIVTOOLS

After making each change, please restart MicroStation to test it.
