Problem

When using the modified rational method in PondPack V8i, how do you set
up the scenarios (return events) so that each one can have a different custom target
peak flow?

I've used the scenario creation wizard but am not able to enter
different target peak outflow fields for each scenario.

Solution

By default, the scenario creation wizard will not create new hydrology
alternatives for each postdevelopment scenario. The "target peak
outflow" field is stored in this alternative, so it needs to be
different for each scenario if you need to use this method (custom
target peak flows). To do this, go to Analysis > Alternatives. Expand
the hydrology alternative until you see the one with the red check mark
next to it, indicating the one used by the current scenario. Right click
it and choose to create a new child alternative. Create a new one like
this for each return event, labeling it accordinging. When done, go to
Analysis > Scenarios, click each scenario and choose the corresponding
hydrology alternative. Now, make the first scenario active (such as the
2 year event). This can be done by choosing it from the dropdown at the
top left or by right clicking the scenario in the scenario manager and
choosing "make current". Now, edit the properties of your catchment and
enter the target peak flow corresponding to that return event. Then,
make the next scenario active and edit the catchment properties again,
entering the corresponding target peak flow, and so on.
