How to model travel time, Tt, from TR-55 when using the SCS unit hydrograph method?

Solution

When using the TR-55 method the travel time variable was associated with the time flow took to traverse a channel once it had leftthe outfall point of a hydrograph. The methodology would then use the variable to apply translation and attenuation effects. When using the SCS Unit Hydrograph method there is no related variable for Tt. Therefore, to account for the flow travel once it has left the watershed, a reach route link is used. With this element you can route flow using the Modified Puls method, Muskingum method, or pure translation.
