Problem

How can I import hydrographs from Graphical HEC-1 to PondPack?

Solution - PondPack 10.x

Graphical HEC-1 exports every output hydrograph to a Tape22 file which can be imported into PondPack. PondPack can redily import hydrographs from any ASCII file in the correct Tape21 format including Tape22 files regardless of the name (or extension) of the file. When browsing to select the file simply select the Tape22 file and PondPack will read in the data correctly.

Since PondPack reads in only the first hydrograph in the file, you may have to make some modification to the Tape22 file generated by GHEC-1 in order to import the correct hydrograph. Open the Tape22 file generated in a text editor (such as Wordpad or Notepad) and simply delete all the hydrographs above the desired one to move the correct hydrograph to the top line of the file. Or, copy the hydrograph of interest to the top of the file.

Solution - PondPack V8i

PondPack V8i can import Hydrographs via the ModelBuilder tool, or from a .PPW file (PondPack 10). If you have access to version 10, follow the above steps to import, then in the Hydrograph Manager in V8i, choose the Import button and select the .PPW file.
