What do the Level and Head values for a surge tank signify in the Transient Analysis Detailed Report?
The terminology in the Transient Analysis Detailed Report is a little different from that used in the surge tank properties. In the Transient Analysis Detailed Report, "Level" in is the hydraulic grade inside the tank. "Head" is the hydraulic grade outside of the tank, where it connects to the pipe. The difference between the two is the headloss across the orifice that connects the tank to the pipe.
