The filter based on element is not working when the control or condition is a composite control or condition.
This issue has been resolved starting with the CONNECT Edition release of WaterGEMS and WaterCAD. In the CONNECT Edition, if you filter by element, composite conditions will be displayed if it contains that element or element type. To download the current version, please follow the steps found in this link.
If you are unable to upgrade, there is a workaround for the issue. Go to the Conditions tab in the Controls dialog. Here, go to the Type pulldown menu and set this to Composite. When you choose the element from the Condition Element pulldown, the list will be filtered to show composite controls for that element.
