This is an access issue, either due to user permissions or security software interference. First, log onto the machine as an administrator and install the product by right-clicking on the installation file and choosing to "Run as Administrator." Do not enter the license information or set the default feature configuration while logged in as the administrator. Switch back to the original user's Window profile, and activate the license.

It may be necessary to temporarily disable your security software (antivirus or antimalware for example) if possible (do not forget to turn it back on after), or contact your IT/security team to add an exception to your security software for the installation executable (.exe) file.

Another possible cause is an invalid or corrupted installation of CONNECTION Client. In such a case, uninstall CONNECTION Client from the Control Panel and then try installing WaterCAD or WaterGEMS again with full administrative rights.
