Problem
Is there a way to control the labeling method used when splitting pipes?
Starting in WaterGEMS and WaterCAD 10.01.00.72, when a pipe is split the new pipes keep the original pipe's label and a (1) and (2) is added.
For example, splitting pipe P-56 would result in pipes P-56 (1) and P-56 (2). Then splitting pipe P-56 (1) results in pipes P-56 (1) (1) and P-56 (1) (2).
In prior versions, the new pipes would continue using the next label as defined in the Options (Labels tab) dialog.
For example, if the next pipe label is P-100, then splitting pipe P-56 would result in pipes P-100 and P-101.
Solution
As of WaterGEMS and WaterCAD version 10.01.01.04, there isn't currently a way to specify how pipes are labeled after a pipe is split.
The ability to control how pipes are labeled after they are split will be considered for a future release (reference # 942272).
