WaterSight - Stations Details

Product(s): WaterSight
Version(s): 10.00.
Area: Documentation

Overview

This page is used to evaluate the behavior of pump stations with multiple pumps, using the combined flow from all active pumps. These observed points can be compared to the expected behavior for different combinations of pumps.

The very first time this page is loaded, it will display all the pump station operating points. The user should use the pump filter selection to filter the station operating points based on the different combination of pumps that were working.

Navigation

The back arrow navigates to the previous page. Clicking on the down arrow expands a list of all pump stations. Select any pump station to view the associated graph.

Pump Filter Selection

Select one or more pumps to display the combined factory head curve and the respective combined operating points, in case the Filter to Selected toggle is enabled. If the Filter to Selected toggle is disabled, the selection of the pumps will only update the combined factory head curve (while keeping al the pump station operating points).

The head curve from each selected pump will be added together using the principle of parallel pumps, to display the expected behavior when that combination of pumps is active.

Date Range

Select the date range for operating data.

Filter to selected

By default this toggle is enabled. When the toggle is enabled, selecting the pumps under the   icon will display the combined factory head curve and the respective combined operating points. If the Filter to Selected toggle is disabled, the selection of the pumps will only update the combined factory head curve (while keeping al the pump station operating points).

Graphic Tools

Use the graphic toolbar to control the display of the charts shown on the pump graph.

Average performance

Average performance variables for the defined time period (flow, head and efficiency).

Realtime performance

The flow and head conditions for the current time (flow, head and efficiency).

Sensors

Sensors associated to the pump station (pump station sensors are defined in the administration).

Clicking directly on the name of each sensor will directly redirect the user to the detailed graph of that individual sensor.

Interpreting the Head Curve Graph

Note: The Pump Station page is currently most informative for stations without active Variable Speed Pumps.

  • At a glance, the graph indicates the overall range of flows and head conditions experienced at the pump station. This can be useful to compare against design expectations.
  • For stations with multiple combinations of pumps that are active at different times, there will typically be several clusters of points.
    • If none of the pumps are Variable Speed Pumps, these clusters are expected to align with the corresponding combined pump curve.
    • Points that fall below the nearest combined pump curve may indicate that one or more pumps require maintenance, or that there is excessive head loss throughout the pump station.
  • The clusters of points can often be interpolated to infer the range of System Head Curves experienced by the pump station, which can be useful for analysis and design.
