Distorted graphics in SewerGEMS installed on Dell Alienware computers

Problem

SewerGEMS (or other products) icons in the ribbon menu and workflows appear distorted.

Solution

This problem is related to products installed on DELL machines which run AWCC Service i.e., the AlienWare Command Center.

Please follow the below steps to resolve this issue:

1. Ensure SewerGEMS is closed

2. In Windows explorer, navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\A-Volute\DellInc.AlienwareSoundCenter\Modules\ScheduledModules\Configurator

3. Open the any text editor (like notepad, notepad++) in administrator mode and open the "BlackApps.dat" file

4. Add the following list of executables as exceptions at the end of the BlackApps.dat file

SewerGEMS.exe

dw.exe stmc.exe

STMCsys.exe

swrc.exe

SWRCsys.exe

Haestad.DesignSynchronizer.exe

WaterObjects.Net.PostCalculationProcessor.exe

Haestad.ModelBuilder.BatchImport.Driver.exe

Haestad.Integrator.exe

DesignSyncViewer.exe

DgnNavigatorAx.exe

5. Save the BlackApps.dat file

6. Open Task Manager and go to "Services" and search for "AWCCService" - Right click and "Restart"

7. Launch SewerGEMS and the problem should be fixed.
