Setting the invert elevation for multiple conduits coming into one manhole

      Applies To

Product(s): Bentley SewerCAD, SewerGEMS, CivilStorm, StormCAD
      Version(s): 08.11.XX.XX
      Environment:  N/A
      Area:  Layout and Data Input
      Subarea:
Original Author: Mark Pachlhofer, Bentley Technical Support Group

    Background

This will explain how to define the invert elevation for multiple conduits coming into one manhole, since the manhole only has one invert field. The 'Elevation (Invert in 1)" , "Elevation (Invert in 2)", "Elevation (Invert in 3)", etc... fields only apply to the GVF-Convex (SewerCAD) solver and the GVF-Rational (StormCAD) solver. They will not display information for the Implicit (SewerGEMS, CivilStorm) solver or the SWMM solver.

    Steps to Accomplish

"Set the invert start?" or "Set the invert stop?" field equal to 'False'

The inverts of conduits are set in the properties of your conduits

    1. Double click on the first upstream conduit to open the properties of it.

    2. Look for the property called "Set invert to Stop?" and set it to 'False'. Confirm that the stop node is correctly set to the downstream node in question.

    3. Once done have the option to enter the value for the 'Invert(Stop)' field.

    4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other incoming conduits.

*If the "Set invert to Stop?" is set to 'True' the 'Elevation (Invert in 1)" , "Elevation (Invert in 2)", "Elevation (Invert in 3)", etc...  field will still populate the values from the other conduits, but you will not be able to set the values. Therefore, the values are automatically populated from the elevation invert fields of the upstream/downstream manhole. For example, in the screen shot below the invert level of the manhole in the blue box would populate the 'Elevation (Invert in 1)"  field automatically, instead of letting the modeler enter a value.
