Problem
What are the current limitations and considerations with using the Arch and Pipe-Arch section shapes in SewerGEMS, CivilStorm, SewerCAD and StormCAD?
Solution
As of the CONNECT Edition, both the "Arch" and "Pipe-Arch" section shapes are available for conduits, with all four solvers (Implicit, Explicit-SWMM, GVF-Convex and GVF-Rational). The Pipe-Arch option is only available with a catalog conduit due to the additional input fields.
In older versions, Pipe-Arch was not supported with the Implicit solver and Arch was not supported with the GVF-Convex solver.
Arch Shaped Culverts
As of the CONNECT Edition, Arch is available as a standard culvert shape. It can be selected in the culvert library and used in conduits whose section shape is set to Arch or Pipe-Arch (as mentioned above, Pipe-Arch must be used as a catalog conduit). In V8i and earlier, arch shaped culverts were not available.
