Tired of your SELECTserver not restarting after reboot? Try setting a Dependancy on your SQL Server Service. It's easier than you think!
Here's what you do...
Find the name of the service for SQL Server on the machine.
Typically it's MSSQL$SELECTSERVER.
Then Log on to the SELECTserver machine as a system administrator and type the following in the command prompt:
sc config “Bentley SELECT Server” depend= MSSQL$SELECTSERVER
Afterwards check that service Bentley SELECTserver would have a dependency on MS SQL database engine service (in Properties -> Dependencies). Rename last word in command with the correct service name if it didn't appear.
After the reboot of the server BSS service will automatically start from now on.
Note: SELECTserver version 08.11.07.111 or higher fixes this issue by automatically setting up the dependency for you.
