Still problems with activation of Bentley Map PowerView

Some weeks ago I wrote about problems with activation of Bentley Map PowerView.

The problem is very odd, because the complete activation process is going ok and the green check mark is marked in the License Management dialog. Unfortunately you are only allowed to work in 13 minutes before an warning pops up and ends your session.

I thought I have found the solution with good help from Jeremy. The solution is described here:

http://communities.bentley.com/products/licensing/f/275813/p/130563/399372#399372

Unfortunately the problem returned to one of our costumers PC after a period where the license was doing fine.

I really hope that Bentley pretty quick can change the activation issues in Bentley Map PowerView. All other Bentley products is activating fine on the same machines.

Our customer is very close to quit the product and we don't that to happend. So please change the activation procedure in Bentley Map PowerView to match the other Bentley products. I can upload a new licdebug.log file if you need any documentation of the problem.

  • Yes, please submit a new licdebug.log file via Communities Secure File Upload for further analysis. As an additional troubleshooting step, please log in as the affected user, and open the License Management Tool. Is Bentley Map PowerView listed as Activated when logged in as the user? This is important since the activation status for a product is normally stored in the current user profile.

  • I am logged in as the current user, and yes I can see that the product is activated with the current user logged in.
The activation is also stored under the current user-level in registry.
I have uploaded the file, hope you can use it.
  • I see heartbeat messages for CONNECTION Client (product ID 1805) but not for Bentley Map PowerView (product ID 1940), making me wonder if the product is logging usage at all or operating in a time-limited demo mode only. To test this, please open the License Management Tool on the affected machine, and select View License Log from the Tools menu. Are any listings with a ProductID value of 1940 present? If none are initially visible, be sure to select the Log File drop-down menu in case multiple log files for product usage are present. If no listings for 1940 are present, there may an installation problem with Bentley Map PowerView, especially since other products on the machine are functioning properly. Please let me know what you find as the PowerView product support team may need to get involved.
