We are now planning out the work for migrating Lincolnshire County Council’s Data Centre to two new Data Centres.
Where the application servers are already on Windows 2008 or Windows 2012, the server names may remain the same but the IP addresses will definitely change. Where the application servers are on Windows 2003, the application will need to be re-installed on Windows 2012 servers (or Windows 2008 if Windows 2012 is not possible).
In the case of SQL servers, we are also running a SQL Consolidation project which will involve migrating databases to SQL 2012.
In the case Of Bentley, we currently use a Windows 2008 application server but there is also a Windows 2008/SQL 2008 server running the Bentley database. So the approach would be to migrate the existing server to the new Data Centre but the server would have a new IP address. We would also need to migrate the Bentley database to a new SQL 2012 server.
As part of the data centre migration, the server names may stay the same but the IP and MAC address will definitely change. Is the application dependent on IP/MAC addresses? If so, please provide details of what will need to be changed.
Are there likely to be any issues if any of the Bentley application were to be hosted on a remote site, for example if the application were to run over a link that has an 11 milliseconds latency? The capacity of the links will be 1GB an so it is not expected that bandwidth will be an issue.
What is the latest supported SQL/Oracle version?
With regards to the move of the application and related servers, are there any tasks which require the third party's involvement? If so, please provide details.
Thanks very much for your assistance

Hello Martin,
its over a year ago! since we sent the request.... but it was our issue that we have not completed the dialog with yourself since.
Apologies, but we are now in a position where we would like to proceed with the migration.
it is just the SELECT server licensing software (on the network), and the associated SQL db which is on a separate server.
Regards
Pete.
SELECTserver does not rely upon MAC addresses, allowing license servers to be migrated more easily. The connection between SELECTserver and SQL Server typically uses a server name, but it could be using an IP address depending on how it was configured originally. To determine this, please open SELECTserver Database Setup on the old server by selecting from the Windows Start menu:All Programs -> Bentley -> SELECTserver -> SELECTserver Database Setup
Note the value in the Server field in the upper left corner as shown below:
As of this writing, SELECTserver 09.01.00.31 supports both Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. The following support solution provides instructions for downloading, installing, and configuring the latest version of SELECTserver. Also refer to the following migration considerations.
