I have a machine that is offline and Microstation loaded that has used it's trial period. I have booked out a license but cannot check it back in to the other machine because i can only reach the 'activation' screen.
Also when i booked out the license, all it asked me for was my email address which wouldn't be much use. Isn't there supposed to be a number to enter into the other machine? And how do i activate the machine with the booked-out license?
You're correct Jeremy, this server site does not show out a checked license, however we have one less license in our pool as per the Microstation check out tool. And do I just use the site activation key to enter into every checked-out machine?
The Powerlink Queensland site (4029675) has a total of six MicroStation licenses, and when I attempt to check out a license from the SELECTserver administration site itself, I see six licenses available as shown in the screenshot below:
You mentioned the checkout tool from within MicroStation is showing less. Is this the License Management Tool? Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?
When checking out a license, enter any email address when prompted for one. The site activation key configured in the License Management Tool will be used automatically to retrieve the license.
Thanks Jeremy, it doesn't show on the license server.
I am trying to activate Microstation on a machine whose trial period has expired; it is not on the network; and it has no internet connection.
I can book a license out, but how do I book it in to this non active machine?
Use the following instructions for checking out a license from the administration site. This procedure can be used to check out a license for machine that cannot connect to the license server. I recommend saving it as an XML file and importing the license file on the client via the License Management Tool.
Thank you Jeremy the info I was after was the license file. I cannot open the Microstation on the other machine so I'm guessing I need to point to the licensing file during activation.
Really appreciate all your help. Thanks it's all up and working.
Excellent!
