I am newbie to Bentley licensing and activation.
One of my clients has recently renewed their STAAD pro select subscription for another 3 years .
They had been using the deployed server configuration for the licenses previously , but the renewal details came as select server ( internet based [ selectserver.bentley.com. ] ) .
So , what should i do to get the new deployed server configurations . ?
AND i heard a news ( might be a hoax) that bentley is going to stop deployed server configuration in the next few years . Is it true ?

I am an IT Analyst (new to Bentley products) and I have a client who wants to remain with in-house license management. He has one perpetual license for use at his home office and one perpetual license for use at his storefront office. From what I gather, he needs to use an in-house deployed select server (one in each location?) in order to keep the product active. However, Bentley now prefers clients to use their hosted select server as deployed server is no longer supported. He does not require a subscription service or support/updates going forward as his CAD requirements are minimal.
So, I am not clear on how to proceed at this time. Can you please advise the best/recommended solution for this situation? Thank you in advance.
Edit: we also need to address the concern of lost internet connectivity in order to maintain uninterrupted operations.
