I have installed the latest version, MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 4) 08.11.09.832, and connection client(10.00.12.06). When I try to open microstation, it does not register that I am logged into my connection client and instead shows that I am in trial mode(7 day pop up window to activate old way). I'm not sure how exactly to link the two, or what the issue could be. Any ideas?

I think you have to do it the old way with SS4 and anyway I think Bentley have to have enabled the new way on your Select Account for you to bre able to use the new method.
I'm pretty sure that it is enabled in my select account. We need to use the specific SS4 version per our DOT standard, since they have yet to migrate to new connect edition. It works on my other machine, but when trying to do it on this one, it doesn't register.
Versions of MicroStation prior to CONNECT Edition Update 11 (i.e. 10.11.xx.xx) use the SELECTserver licensing system and therefore utilize a server name and site activation key to activate unless you are using a checked out license. Please proceed through the Product Activation Wizard, and enter the requested information when prompted to activate your product. When MicroStation CE Update 11 is released, it will use your Bentley login to activate instead.
