We have a Microstation License that is expiring in a couple of weeks. We received a pdf document that contained a link to access the license file (bentley.com/licensetool). I get an access error from the site stating: "The page you are trying to access requires a special entitlement... " Is it possible to have my account adjusted so that I may access the downloads?
One of your administrators can add roles to your Bentley login such as the License Manager role. However, access to this tool may not be necessary since you are using an on-premise (i.e. deployed) SELECTserver. Your server appears to have an Internet connection, so it may have updated the license file already unless it is configured to not automatically accept changes. Following are instructions for manually requesting a new license file from the SELECTserver administration site, if necessary. To confirm whether the license file is current, please navigate to the SELECTserver administration site, locate the License Management section at the bottom of the left sidebar, and click on View License File. Ensure the expiration dates are in 2020.
I am unable to retrieve the license from the SELECT server. I'm getting an error stating that our SELECTserver license has expired. Is there another way to retrieve the license so that I can manually upload it.
Thanks
To rule out a caching issue with IIS, please recycle the SELECTserver application pool. Then reload the SELECTserver administration site, and note whether the "License as expired" error persists. If necessary, I can generate a license file and send it to you privately.
It looks like recycling the application pool did the trick. I'm getting all the functionality out of the admin portal now that I couldn't beforehand due to the license file error. I'll reach out to our engineers and make sure they're not getting the License expiry message when launching the application.
Thanks for your help!
