I stumble on this pages yesterday:
https://www.bentley.com/en/desktop-applications
We are wondering on what will happen with V8i SS2 products after january 2020, will they still works? Or everybody will have to upgrade to SS10? or Connect?
We need confirmation from Bentley on this as soon as possible.
Thanks and regards
For review you can visit the following page:
The first table outlines the Major Product Version of our various software, ie MicroStation, InRoads, etc, and where they fall in terms of Status or when they will enter a different support status.
The second table outlines what support services will be available in regards to each Support Status. The products them selves keep working, only the Support Services will expire and discontinued

I have seen the table many times, but it does not tell me in plain language whether the licensing server for SS2 products will continue to function and what options for licensing will be available for SS2 products after the "expiring support" date.
I am aware of the SS10 versions of many of the Bentley products, however for certain verticals, SS10 is based off the SS4 version which is VERY different from the SS2 version. Even if we are able to upgrade our software to the newest supported versions, we still have legacy projects that will need to be maintained with the older software until completion. Surely you can appreciate that having to completely rework a project, from scratch in a new software package, that is already at Stage 3 may not be economically feasible for everyone.
I understand that the software will not just "drop dead" on the kill date, but if licensing will no longer be available, then it might as well be dead. I would like someone to explain to me, in plain words, if SS2 software will still have a license to run after January 2020. I've seen the table. Please explain what that table means in practical application.
