On first initial install of the Microstation v8i with connect client the connection client opens up with just Try again. Then the user has to open up a web browser and go to connect website and then they can login to the connect client.

That is an old version and I believe that issue was resolved in a subsequent release. I have two other questions:
1) Did that version come bundled with V8i?
2) What is the version number of V8i?
I am checking with the product manager now to understand why we might be delivering an older version if that was the case. I would recommend updating the CONNECTION Client to the latest version. We just released CONNECTION Client 11.00.01.88 yesterday.
It is the latest version of V8i. When we do install the connect client it does have an update pending for the connect client. Is the problem resolved in the newer version of connect client?

While not specifically listed, I recall others having a similar issue that was resolved by being on a version newer than that one.
