Can I use SelectServer to monitor and report on the use of evaluation keys and if so how?
If it is not possible to use SelectServer to report on the use of 30-day Trial keys is it possible to detect using a software audit or registry scan (if so what I am looking for).
Hello Simon,
There is one registry key created even if Bentley software is not licensed which keeps the activation status which you can use to find the machines with Bentley software unlicensed. The location again can be different but you can search by its name - LAT1. There will be as many LAT1 keys as the number of Bentley products installed on a PC. Example value of a LAT1 that shows that the software is unlicensed - NHJL0001368509660. You can decide whether it is licensed or not using the first letter, if it's A to E, means software is Activated (licensed) if any other letter like in the example value - means that the software EITHER has never been activated like the case you wnt to monitor OR the software has been activated but the license is expired or there are communication issues from the PC to SelectServer and the software is not able to get the license.

Thank you Maksim. I'll see if we can get our audit tools to pick up this key.
