We have a deployed SELECTserver which has been running happily transmitting log until last night when we got this message.
Data Update Service - WARNING with status code 2 - service start time: 19/07/2013 12:00:42 AM - An error occurred retrieving the license from Bentley.com: - A server certificate could not be validated.
This happened once before and took a while to sort it out but it was found that the server needs a couple of SSL certificates that normally come via windows update. We do not have automatic windows server updates
This was fixed by importing two SSL certificates which were available on the bentley website for down loading at that time. Does anyone know where I can get these?

Hi David,
Request you to please go through the below mentioned link.

I tried this process (importing certificates) but it did not work.
Subsequently received the following from Bentley Technical Support
this is now an issue on Bentley side, the SSL certificate of Bentley server expired on July 18th (last Thursday). I have contacted the responsible team to fix it. When it is done I will email you ASAP, you should not need to change anything - when Bentley certificate is renewed it should just start working fine.

David,
During the last maintenance we upgraded the SSL certificate issued by DigiCert and could be the reason you are having some problems. You shouldn’t need to install the certificate unless you don’t trust the certificate authority, CA DigiCert. This CA is trusted by windows, if updates have been maintained on the server. Attached is the certificate, see if this helps.

The new SSL certificates and installer package (SSCertinstall.zip) are available to download:
